Native apps
Fold Commons builds for the web first. iPad and Mac apps follow — and add only what a browser cannot do.
Web first, iPad and Mac second
Every tool ships as a free page you can open on any device without installing anything — and that page is the product, not a preview of one. iPad and Mac apps come second: they wrap the same tools and add only what a browser cannot do (Files, the Share Sheet, an offline library, Spotlight). Nothing is held back from the web to make the app look better.
Status
FoldLens (native): Internal testing; the public TestFlight beta is not yet open. Target for v1.0: 2027 Q2 — FoldLens native v1.0 ship + Apache 2.0 source publication.
FoldVision (visionOS) is planned as the spatial tier, where the platform is the point and a browser cannot match hand-and-room depth; it has no web edition by design.
Waitlist
Want a note when the native apps open for testing? Email hello@foldcommons.org with "native waitlist" in the subject. We never collect emails from children, and we'll only use it to tell you when testing opens.
