ZooFold
The same protein, in three animals. Whose version is closest to ours, letter by letter? Call it, then see the letters and the shapes. 5 proteins.
- Shapes usually stay alike longer than the letters do: a protein can change many of its letters and keep its fold.
- Letter likeness is not a family tree: one protein can change faster in one lineage than in another, so the closest version is not always from the closest relative.
- These are AlphaFold predictions of each animal's protein, not experiments.

Before you call it: guessing alone would be right about 1 time in 3.

Shape: Cα RMSD over the aligned residues both predictions are sure of (pLDDT 70 or more). Predictions, not experiments.
